At Expression Blinds, we are delighted to call ourselves commercial blind specialists. As we are an independent company, we are not tied into supplier or franchise agreements, which gives us the freedom to select the right fabric supplier for the specific job. This means high performing fabrics, stunning looks and reduced prices! For blinds in commercial premises such as offices, schools and areas with computer screens and projection equipment, high performing fabrics are an essential requirement.
Commercial Blinds From Expression Blinds
We frequently use the fabric supplier Eclipse for many commercial projects. They launching Unix, a collection of blinds designed to appeal to architects and specifiers. Popular commercial blind fabrics such as Palette, Palette Reflex, Certex, Bioflex, Bioflex Reflex, Banlight FR, Banlight Duo FR, Atlantex and Atlantex ASC will all feature in the Unix project blind collection with new Style Studio fabrics being added later in the year. These are all available in a huge range of colours – for example Palette is now available in 41 colours; 23 new choices to go with the 18 existing ones. Something to suit every possible taste!
All ranges in the Unix project blind collection are fire-retardant and Acticide-coated as standard. Fabric flammability is an important textile issue, especially when fabrics are used in both public and domestic spaces. The term ‘fire-retardant’ refers to a reduced fire hazard, as all fabrics will burn under certain circumstances. The tests that Eclipse uses for classifying its fabrics are perhaps more accurately described as flame-resistance tests. These test a fabric’s ability to resist ignition whilst monitoring the flame size and duration during test conditions. When a fabric is designated as inherently fire-retardant, the flame retardancy will last for the life of the fabric. This is because the fire-retardant properties are built directly into the molecular structure of the fibres.
Louvolite are another excellent commercial fabric supplier. They have some stunning blackout fabrics which work really well for areas of intense glare, allowing operators to use computers, projectors and other applications with the optimum level of light. The ranges Plaintex and Nocturne have a range of colours and shades to select from, and can be fitted as roller blinds or vertical blinds, to best suit the setting of the blind. Other fabrics in the louvolite commercial range include Guardian, Strata and Dapple, which allow light through but have an SPC (Solar Protective) coating, which places them in the ‘dim-out’ catagory rather than blackout, and are excellent performing fabrics.
