Here at Expression Blinds, we are delighted to be able to offer a stunning range of pleated blinds to our customers. Pleated blinds provide a welcome addition to any room of the house.
Pleated blinds are a beautiful choice for your windows whatever the style of your home as they allow for sunlight to be gently filtered in order to acquire the perfect atmosphere within your living space. These blinds offer a high degree of privacy and light filtration without blocking the glow of natural light.
Pleated Blinds are Simply Elegant
Simple and elegant, pleated blinds can be neatly folded away to give a wonderful view of the outside. When closed, these blinds will allow for soft light to enter. Blackout shades can be opted in order to completely block out sunlight, effectively insulate your home and protect furnishings from sun damage.
Our fantastic range of pleated fabrics mean there is something for every taste and budget. As well as traditional plain colours, we are now pleased to offer beautiful prints which are not available from other blinds companies.
Pleated Blinds are a Great Option for Conservatories
As pleated blinds are renown for their energy efficiency, they are often opted to cover conservatory windows. At Expression Blinds, we offer the majority of our pleated fabrics with solar-protective coatings, which help to further reduce the heat and glare that passes through the fabric – this makes for an optimum environment and conservatories and orangeries, even during hot summers and cold winters. This will drastically reduce your energy bills.
Easy to Fit and Easy to Maintain
The full range of pleated blinds are now also available as Perfect Fit blinds, which simply clip onto the window frames without the need for drilling or damage to the surrounding PVC. As well as being easy to install, they’re easy to maintain too. They simply need to be wiped over with a damp cloth or brush to remove dust and dirt.

Why Would You Choose Pleated Blinds For Your Home or Office?
Pleated blinds are a popular choice for home décor schemes or for business use since they fold away very neatly when not in use, and can be adjusted to any height to control the amount of light getting into the room, but when fully drawn down they don’t restrict the natural glow of light from outside filtering into the room.
The Advantages of Pleated Blinds
Insulation Value
Pleated blinds allow you to filter light and create a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere, as well as really boosting the insulation of a room – the layer of fabric, when down, helps to keep heat inside in the winter, and outside in the summer, so you can save on your heating bills and help save the earth at the same time!
Control Over The Amount of Light In The Room
As we mentioned above, our pleated blinds provide precise control over the amount of light in the room depending on how you position them, but they can also be customised with a range of fabrics and colours during the consultation and manufacturing process. We make all our blinds to order, so you can choose darker fabrics, which will block out more light, or paler, lighter fabrics which will result in a lighter and airier atmosphere, even when the blinds are fully drawn.
Pleated Blinds Are Easy To Use and Durable
If you’re not a fan of venetian-style blinds or the flatness of roller blinds, then pleated blinds can provide a lovely, textured alternative that will leave a room a little more visually interesting. At Expression Blinds, we pride ourselves on making our blinds to the highest standards of quality, and we’re proud of the durability and easy maintenance of our pleated blinds. When you have pleated blinds fitted by Expression Blinds, you’ll know that with proper care they’ll last you for years to come!

Pleated Blinds FAQs
How Are Pleated Blinds Different to Other Blinds Types?
Pleated blinds have one continuous layer of material, with no slats or gaps in the material the way Venetian Blinds or Slatted Blinds do. This material is pleated in a concertina-like pattern, that allows it to fold up very neatly into a small stack or pile at the top of the window when completely opened, allowing you to make the maximum use of your window.
Pleated blinds can be opened fully or only partially opened, depending on how much light you want, and when you choose your pleated blinds from Expression Blinds, you can also choose what colour, thickness and type of material you want, which gives you even more control over the amount of light that’s allowed in when the blinds are closed.
How Do Pleated Blinds Work?
Pleated blinds are made from one piece of material, with “pleats” in it which enable it to fold away into a neat stack. They are fitted to your window frames to ensure a perfect fit, and are controlled by simply raising or lowering a bar at the bottom of the material. This is easy to do and doesn’t require any effort – the blinds material is lightweight and in a well-made pleated blinds set like you’d get from Expression Blinds, the entire setup moves easily, without sticking.
Are Pleated Blinds Easy To Fit?
You can fit pleated blinds yourself, but to ensure a good fit and long blinds life we always recommend letting a professional do the fitting for you. At Expression Blinds, we make all of your blinds from scratch to fit your windows and doors perfectly, so that when it’s time to fit them, they fit in seamlessly!
Can Pleated Blinds Be Put On Doors?
If your doors have windowpanes on them, then pleated blinds are a great blinds solution for them! Because they fit into the frame itself, the blinds won’t trail after the door as it opens and closes, and they’ll give you great control over the amount of light (and visibility) going through the door.
Pleated blinds are a great blinds type for use in patio doors and bifold doors too – talk to your fitter or give us a ring to find out more about how these adaptable, versatile blinds can be fitted to what you need!
