We have seen a huge surge in popularity of bi-fold doors recently, and with good reason; they make a real design statement and connect the inside and outside spaces together. Having a large expanse of glass means great views out into the garden, however, it also means prying eyes can see in! Also in the summer months, the sunlight can stream in, and the area near the windows can get cold in the winter. Therefore blinds can provide privacy and heat control when required. But what are the best options for blinds for bi-fold doors?
Perfect-fit Blinds
Our vertical and roller blinds come with a small & discreet motor which is fitted inside the track of the vertical blind and inside the barrel unit of the roller blind. The motor unit can be powered by a battery which can be recharged, or it can be plugged into the mains. If you select the battery powered blinds then there are no wires or cables to get caught up in and as they are operated by remote control, they are simple and easy to use.

Perhaps one of the most effective blinds for bi-fold doors are perfect fit blinds. The beauty about this type of blind is the fact that they fit flush to the window frames so as to not obstruct the opening of the doors, even on the tightest closing doors.
Vertical Blinds
Vertical blinds are popular due to their versatility; they can not only be open or closed, but can be tilted to any angle to suit the user. This allows for increased privacy and protects from direct sunlight whilst maintaining optimum light levels in the room. They can be easily applied to your bi-fold doors, providing they open out away from the blind, without obstructing or restricting your use of the door. Choosing the right blind is crucial in providing privacy, heat control and also security. We recommend a few different options for blinds for French doors:
Venetian Blinds
Our stunning range of Venetian blinds always look fabulous and by Installing them directly onto the door makes them easy to use and adjust. The glass panels are completely covered so privacy is not compromised. They require a slightly different kind of installation to vertical blinds when it comes to French doors. Whereas verticals are installed to either the inside or outside recess and cover the whole of the window, wooden blinds are installed onto the doors themselves.
Roller Blinds
Roller blinds work on a simple sidewinder mechanism, that allows the user to sit the blind at the ideal height. These sidewinders are available in a range of colours, to blend in perfectly with the surface they are fitted to. We also supply all rollers with a ‘child-safety’ clip, that attaches the chain to the wall, out of reach of children and also prevents anything from getting tangled up in the chain.

Perfect fit blinds are an exciting new innovation in window blind technology. They offer a modern solution to shading and providing privacy. Perfect fit blinds are easy to install and work on a simple system. They allow pleated, roller or venetian blinds to be fitted perfectly onto your UPVC French doors in an elegant frame that clips onto the window frame itself with little effort. Vertical
These are still a very popular option choice, as they are an effective way of offering a large door opening, whilst being more cost-effective than bi fold doors.
