When people think of “blinds”, often the first thing they think of is a set of vertical blinds. These extremely popular and versatile blinds sets are staples in offices, school buildings and other maintained buildings, and their everyday nature sometimes leads us to give them less credit than they deserve – vertical blinds, far from being the boring option, are a highly effective and adaptable blinds type that can be made to suit any environment. Read on to find out more about what sets these blinds apart!
Vertical Blinds Are Highly Versatile
Whether you’re looking for blinds for your living room or your office space, vertical blinds will work. They look great in a variety of settings and a wide range of window shapes and sizes, and they’re available in a huge range of colours and materials. At Expression Blinds, all of our blinds are made specially to your order, and we’re able to adapt your vertical blinds to suit various décor schemes or window types – even floor-to-ceiling windows like those seen in many modern offices can look fantastic with vertical blinds!
Once installed, the adaptability and versatility of these blinds will really come into their own – made with overlapping slats, your new blinds can be fully closed, fully opened, or angled to provide shade and privacy. On hot days, they can even be angled to keep the sun out, while allowing cool breezes to come in through the open windows beyond! This versatility is one of the reasons vertical blinds remain so popular today.

Vertical Blinds Are Easy To Maintain
At Expression Blinds, we make all of our blinds with durable, hard-wearing materials and sturdy construction, so you’ll be able to get the best out of them for years to come.
Vertical blinds are particularly easy to maintain, since their slats are usually made from durable, wipe-clean fabric, which is often even machine-washable. Where the blinds slats are made from materials like metal, PVC, or even wood, then maintenance is just a question of wiping them clean, making cleaning and maintenance even easier!
Also, while roller blinds or roman blinds would need to be completely taken down from their mounting in order to be washed, vertical blinds can have individual slats removed easily, so after a spill, only the effected section of the blinds would need to be taken down for cleaning – the rest can stay up and continue functioning! This is also a great advantage to vertical blinds when a slat needs to be replaced – there’s no need to replace the entire blinds set, just that one slat.
Vertical Blinds Look Great
Vertical blinds look great as window dressing, whether or not they’re paired up with a set of curtains. Hanging elegantly in the same way curtains do, vertical blinds can fold up very neatly when completely opened, and are available in a wide range of colours and materials to suit your décor needs.
As we mentioned above, every set of blinds fitted by Expression Blinds has been hand-made to your specifications, so we’ll be happy to make a set of vertical blinds that fits your needs – you can talk through what you’re looking for with your blinds fitter during your free consultation, or give us a call at any time to talk through the options with one of our head office staff!
Vertical Blinds Are Affordable
One of the key advantages to vertical blinds is their affordability, and that’s true even with the custom-made vertical blinds from Expression Blinds. By reducing the cost of the blinds themselves, you free up more budget for decoration or other projects, and the easy maintenance and repair that can be done on vertical blinds means that they’ll still be working years from now.
