Over the last 10 years, anthracite grey has become very popular as the colour of choice for window and door frames. It gives a sleek, contemporary look, and is a nice contrast to lighter coloured surrounds such as walls, window sills and flooring. Whilst it looks fantastic, it does pose a dilema for covering the windows! This article will look at the best options in terms of blinds for anthracite windows.
Anthracite Perfect Fit Blinds
An ideal solution for anthracite windows are Perfect Fit Blinds with the anthracite frames. The frame matches the standard RAL anthracite colour perfectly, making it look like the blinds are an integral part of the window rather than something that’s been retro-fitted later.
Perfect Fit blinds are a stunning tensioned range, available as venetian, roller, pleated or cellular, and the brackets simply slot behind the rubber seal meaning no damage to the frames that traditional fittings can cause. They are also fully child safe, with no freehanging cords.
Anthracite INTU Blinds
Another fantastic option for anthracite windows is that of anthracite INTU blinds. The INTU system is very similar to the Perfect Fit, in that the brackets slot behind the rubber seal so no screwing is required. The key difference is that the INTU doesn’t have the surrounding frame of the Perfect Fit, so it is more minimalist in appearence.
The INTU line has a range of options available; as the bead fit we can supply as venetian, cellular, pleated and roller, in a huge selection of colours, fabrics and finishes. Of course these can come with the anthracite hardware, but we have more colours to choose from should you have more windows with different frames that you want to match to.
The INTU blinds are also available as ‘screw-fit’; these look the same as the bead fit but they can be screwed in place, which is ideal when you have windows that the bead fit won’t work. Any windows that lacks the rubber seal – wooden windows for example – can’t take the bead fit, so the screw fit is an ideal alternative. These come in venetian and pleated, with the anthracite colour option too!
Anthracite Venetian Blinds
Venetian blinds are still leading the way as the popular traditional window blind covering. These are available in either aluminium, faux (acrylic) or real wood, in 35mm, 50mm or 63mm slats.
These can look stunning in anthracite, and will perfectly compliment the anthracite window colour. They give a stunning comtemporary look, and will help to reduce the glare on a bright day.
Many people are opting to go with the wider slat options – 50 or 63mm – as these look great, provide privacy when required and make cleaning much easier as the slats are more accessable than their narrower counterparts.
