We were contacted in March by a construction company who had been completing some project work for an art gallery in Hayes, near Uxbridge. They got in touch as they had seen through our website that we specialised in Perfect Fit blinds, and were interested in a solution for a viewing gallery that was flooded with natural light during the day time, making it difficult to see pictures and sculptures well on bright days.
The difficulty with the windows was that they were aluminium, and also that both the windows and doors opened inwards, meaning that traditional blinds (vertical, roller etc) could not be fitted as they would obstruct the full openings. Therefore something had to be fitted that would allow a range of opening, and would also achieve blackout if required.
We felt the ideal solution was Perfect Fit Cellular blinds with a blackout fabric. These fit flush onto the windows allowing them to open fully, achieve near total blackout and look fantastic! The customer chose a dark grey fabric with silver frames (to match the window handles), and they were delighted with the end result!
