Blinds in Wilmslow
rom period villas to newer builds along the Bollin, we help Wilmslow homeowners find blinds with the right balance of privacy, light control, and everyday practicality.
Choosing the Right Blinds for Wilmslow’s Mix of Homes
A wide glazed extension calls for something different to a bay window in a Victorian semi, and Wilmslow has plenty of both. What works in a new-build living room rarely suits a period study, so the right choice usually comes down to the window itself rather than one style for the whole house.
For wide sliding doors and modern glazing, vertical blinds hold up well, since they cover large openings without adding bulk and are easy to angle for light control through the day. In older properties with smaller sash or bay windows, curtains often suit the room better, adding a warmth that a hard treatment can’t quite match.
- Measured and fitted around your actual window, not a standard size
- Works equally well for modern extensions and older period features
- Fitted by the same team who advise on the fabric and finish
- Backed by a 2-year guarantee on every installation
Whichever direction suits your home, getting the measurements exactly right is what makes the biggest difference.
What Wilmslow Homeowners Usually Ask For
Most requests come down to a handful of recurring problems rather than style preference alone. South-facing extensions in the newer builds often need something that cuts glare without blocking the view entirely, while ground-floor windows closer to the town centre tend to need more privacy, simply because they sit closer to the pavement than a typical suburban plot.
Older properties bring a different set of questions, usually about fitting something into a recess that was never built to a standard size, or matching a colour that won’t clash with original woodwork.
None of these have one right answer, which is why it usually comes down to seeing the actual window rather than working from a description.
If you’d like to browse the practical trade-offs between styles first, our buying guide covers what tends to work for each type of room.
This one’s built around a genuinely different premise (common local requests/problems) rather than the visit process or the reference’s factors-then-samples structure.
Panel Blinds
Wide fabric panels that glide along a track, well suited to sliding doors and larger openings where a bulkier headrail would get in the way.
Blinds for Bay Windows
Fitted to follow the angles of a bay rather than a single flat pane, so each section opens and closes on its own.
Velux Blinds
Made to match the pitch of a roof window rather than a standard upright frame, so the blind sits flush against the glass at whatever angle the window is set.
Commercial Blinds
Specified across multiple windows in one go for offices and other business premises, with consistent sizing and finish carried from room to room.
Blinds for French Doors
A slimline option that keeps the doors’ full opening clear, so nothing overhangs or catches when both doors are swung open at once.
Wooden Blinds
Real wood slats suited to a more traditional room, with a finish that tends to age better over time than some synthetic alternatives.
